Our Natural Gemstones
Gemstone Type - according to Wikipedia the are over 300 types of gemstones used in jewelries, but at GEMIFIE we primarily offer 5 types to our customers; Aquamarine, Sapphire, Spinel, Tanzanite, and Tourmaline that in our opinion exhibit the best Quality, Color, Durability, and Holding Value over time.
1. Quality - perfection through imperfection - natural gemstone is mother nature's creation therefore rarely perfect but always unique. Gemstones will have varying degree of flaws and blemishes internally and or externally, and they are the reason each gemstone is unique and precious. Rest assure, at GEMIFIE we constantly seek to find the most perfectly imperfect high quality all-natural gemstones relative to price, allowing you, our customer, to express your individuality, in an unique way.
2. Color Color Color Color - while the common 4C principle (color, cut, carat, clarity) can be applied to assess gemstone in addition to other attributes, Color is however typically the single most important factor in colored gemstone when it comes to valuation as highlighted in Figure 1.1 below.

Color evaluation consists of 3 parameters - Hue, Tone, and Saturation, that we will cover in the below with a simple overview.
- Hue is essentially the color (for example: red, yellow, blue, green, etc). In colored gemstones you will typically find 2 (or more) color hue in a stone with one denoted as primary and the other as secondary. The 2 color that is visible in the stone is reflected in the color code (for example: greenish blue color, where blue is the primary color with a touch of green as the secondary color). While many consumers prefer colored gemstone with one single color (free of secondary) but there are those prefer 2 or even 3 color hue as they offer a different vibe onto the jewelries.
- Tone is the depth of the color from light to dark, affecting the brilliance of the stone under different lighting scenarios. In general, the standard is to look for medium tone which is not too light not too dark.
- Saturation is the intensity of the color ranging from light, pale, medium, strong, to vivid being the common terminology used. In general, vivid is the highest demand and highest standard in colored gemstones as it is the rarest find in any gemstone type.
Unlike diamonds there is no standard grading on these parameters. While certain attributes command higher premium than others simply because of the scarcity and the perceived demand, but afterall beauty is in the eye of the beholder and this is the reason that makes colored gemstones so intriguing. At GEMIFIE we source and design a wide range of colored jewelries from light to dark, pale to vivid, offering our customers a variety of options. However, given the uniqueness of colored gemstone, don't wait if you see the color in the design you love as we cannot promise if there will ever be a second similar one.
3. Durability - while diamond is known to be the hardest gemstone, corundum (sapphire) is second according to Mohs scale of hardness. That said durability should not be measured solely based on hardness (resistance to scratch). Factors including toughness (resistance to breakage) and stability (resistance to color fading) need to be considered as well. No gemstone will score a perfect mark on all, at GEMIFIE we carefully select gemstones that offer the longest durability possible to customers. Each gemstone will also need to be treated with utmost care so that it can be treasured and handed down for generations.
4. Holding Value - price of quality colored gemstones have risen rapidly in the past decade, with selected types and colors seeing valuation appreciated over 10 folds. This is largely due to increase global demand on premium colored jewelries in modern designs and increasing business transactions over social media and e-commerce platforms. Advancing technology including 3D print and modeling have also played an important role simplifying production management and making dream-design into reality. As with all things made by Earth there's a finite amount of quality colored gemstones available to appreciate and collect, hence the reason why certain type of gemstone (Brazilian Paraiba for example) is extremely rare to find commanding a very high premium price. At GEMIFIE we strive to use only the best quality gemstones allowing customers to be able to treasure and collect this fantastic natural wonder made by Earth. We also strive to ensure that our gemstones are free from any chemical treatment that would be detrimental to their holding value. While we cannot promise the future value of each gemstone, but we are certain our customers will be extremely satisfied each time they wear jewelries made by GEMIFIE.
